Alarm Systems

Sugar Creek's governing documents require that each residence be equipped with a central security system. The Association does not maintain or service security systems. Therefore, residents should have a licensed alarm service company maintain and repair their alarm system equipment as needed.

Residents may connect their alarm systems to the Association's monitoring service, or may alternatively have a security company of their choice perform the alarm monitoring.

The Association provides its residents alarm monitoring through a contract with a local Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed monitoring service. Most alarm service companies can connect your system to the Association's monitoring station by programming the system with the Association's telephone numbers and account numbers. The Association will make this information available to your alarm service company upon request. If you are in need of an alarm service company, the Association can provide you with a list of names and telephone numbers of companies that have agreed to service our community.

The Association maintains a license to monitor security, fire and burglary alarm systems from the State of Texas. These licenses, together with the certification of the Association's UL listed monitoring station, make it possible for you to receive the maximum discount required by law on your homeowners insurance premium. There are some other requirements for your system to fully comply. Inspections of your security system can be made by the Sugar Land Police Department.
